CU Insights

Spring, 2024

During my time as the Marketing and Communications coordinator for Clemson’s Marketing Department,

I was able to build the brand guidelines and manage events for a student organization called, ‘CU Insights’.

While meeting with market research professors, I learned:

Marketing students wanted extracurricular activities to practice and learn market research more in-depth.

Thus, the idea for ‘CU Insights’ was born. This would be a new marketing research club, encouraging students to analyze data and make marketing decisions in simulated environments, whilst learning new strategies and techniques from market research faculty.

I built the brand guidelines and logo for the organization, as well as helped the team establish social media channels.

Now that the brand was established, it was time to look at event planning.

The team came up with the idea for having CU Insights create and host, “Research Week”.

This would be a annually occurring, week-long event, catered to CU Insights members and other Clemson marketing students.

In the end, we ended up organizing four different events:

  1. A brunch and learn with marketing professionals, Mike Courtney and Aperio Insights
  2. A research panel with pizza featuring guest speakers from Coca Cola, Kantar, SKIM, and Georgia Pacific
  3. A brunch and learn with The ExperienceBuilt Group and Tricia Houston
  4. A Competition-style market research case study, allowing students to practice their research skills for the chance to win cash prizes.

I managed the event’s social media marketing through Instagram, and captured photography at the events for future social media content.

In the end, the Research Week was a huge success, considering this was the first run-through. in the end we ended up getting 70 student attendees across all events.

I’m looking forward to helping with CU Insight’s second research week, coming Spring 2025!
